It is noted that the young athletes are at high risk
of shoulder instability. The researchers proposed that the only way is proper arthroscopy
to derive the maximum benefit. The doctors advised that the outcomes can
sometimes be better if there are proper patient selection and stabilization.
"Our study highpoints the significance for young
athletes with shoulder instability, undergoing a detailed preoperative
evaluation to calculate the number of instability events and to obtain apt
advanced imaging when the significant bone loss is suspected," said Frank A.
Cordasco, MD, MS.
According to the survey, it is found that shoulder
instability is more prominent between the ages of 14 and 20. The athletes are
supposedly more inclined to this disease. The surgery rate is typically low and
this gives the sportsmen to return to their game quite soon. As per their
studies, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization can actually give the best results
and make the high-risk athletes active.
