A unfortunate kitchen accident . Hot oil sprinkles onto the arm and the skin is burning .What First Aid should be done?
Only one thing if the question concerned is the immediate first aid- COOL. Immediately dip your hand in ice cold water and keep it so for an hour or so; keep adding ice cubes and frozen trays and packets to keep the water very cold in which you've dipped your hand. This ice water therapy serves miracles if done right and if done for long.
Be it oil burns or crackers or from a direct flame, immediately dip that body part in ice-cold water or best if in a bowl of ice.
NEVER rub the part which has got burnt.
NEVER apply toothpaste on the part, as many myths say.
ALWAYS keep a Silverex ointment at home, in case of such incidents.
NEVER cover up the part burnt or try to burst the blister. Let it resolve
