Childbirth is indeed the most beautiful phase in a woman's life. However, if this comes with terms and conditions, then that's the most unfortunate. Now, women stay anxious about their future with the childbirth. They try their best to keep away any kind of complications.
With time Breast cancer has appeared as a common shock among women and one's susceptibility to it varies from person to person. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that there are a lot of factors come into play when it comes to breast cancer. Alcohol intake, weight gain, family history, age are beyond one's control but these can be the important factor behind breast cancer.
It is seen that event he doctors believe that childbirth can actually reduce a woman's risk of breast cancer. However, with time, the researchers have concluded that childbirth might not lead to a defense against breast cancer risk.
Younger women who have just given birth can run a high risk of suffering from the said condition. While research the scientists focussed on factors, like breastfeeding and family history of cancer, that was hitherto not considered. The study showed that the risk of breast cancer was high in women who had given birth and were aged 55 or can be younger.
Seemingly, women are at most risk after five years from their motherhood. The three common thoughts that have come out are who already had some family history of breast cancer, those who had more children, or those who were older while giving birth the first time have the chance of breast cancer more than others.
"What most people know, that women who have children tend to have lower breast cancer risk than women who have not had children, but that really comes from what breast cancer looks like for women in their 60s and beyond. We found that it can take more than 20 years for childbirth to become protective for breast cancer and that before that, breast cancer risk was higher in women who had recently had a child," said Hazel B. Nichols, Ph.D., based at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
