31st January 2019 was the official inauguration for the International Kolkata Bookfair 2019 and this time it turned out pretty special because of the inaugural ceremony presented by West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police along with a few book release. The books are written and beautifully presented by the eminent cop writers. Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Smt. Mamata Banerjee attended the book inauguration ceremony at Kolkata Bookfair 2019 along with distinguished ministers like Sujit Bose MLA elected from BIDHAN NAGAR of West Bengal, Shri Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister-in-charge, Department of Power & Non-conventional Energy Sources, Sadhan Pandey, present Minister for Consumer Affairs & Self Help Group & Self-Employment in the Government of West Bengal, Shri Subrata Mukherjee, Mayor Janab Firhad Hakim and many others.
Addl Commissioner of Police (III), Shri Supratim Sarkar IPS launched his book 'Goyendapith Lalbazar 2' in the graceful presence of Chief Minister and Humayun Kabir IPS came up with his own creations like Final Gazi 1, Final Gazi 2, Rang E Rang E Ramdhanu. Shri Sujoy Kumar Chanda, Jt. CP Establishment took the initiative to host the entire show.
The surrounding was beautifully adorned and a warm gesture was offered to Hon'ble Chief Minister by the police personnel. The entire Bookfair scenario was decked up to present season's most vibrant festival.
Chief Minister of West Bengal Smt. Mamata Banerjee mentioned that books are our friends and we cannot ignore the importance of books in our life. Books come next to our parent and teachers. We should motivate others to read more books and not focus on digital world. However, all we can do is to digitalize the books for preservation.
Nevertheless, last year the book by Supratim Sarkar reached its zenith in respect of popularity and this year too it won't be an exception. The English version of the Bengali book namely 'The Detective Diaries' will be available in Rupa Publications.
