oestrogen changes the appearance of hymen & makes it very elastic.

introitus, & Imperforate
problem with imperforate hymen is that in this case the hymen completely covers
the opening to the vagina due to which menstrual blood cannot flow out of the
vagina which may lead to abdominal or back pain. This can be treated with a
minor surgery to create an opening, so that menstrual blood can flow out of the
important cultural significance because of its association with a woman`s
virginity. In some cultures, an intact hymen is highly valued at marriage. In
these cultures, new husbands were expected to produce bloody sheets to prove
–they married virgins & consummated the marriage.
common misconception is that intact hymen is a proof of virginity & the
hymen is always torn during first sex.
truth is that Hymen can get torn in several situations other than sex-by
injury, medical examination, use of tampons, masturbation or even physical
during sex, it’s possible the hymen may remain intact. The bleeding may be due
to tear inside of vagina, which is delicate & well supplied with blood
pain during first sex may not be due to tearing of hymen but due to poor
lubrication or anxiety.
Presence of Hymen is not a reliable indicator of Virginity.
